It's time to share...

I haven't been feeling myself lately, and it's because... well, for the few who may not yet know... max and I are going to have a baby!! It isn't really surprising, considering that EVERYONE else is in the same boat we are!

We are SOO excited to share in this journey - there are so many emotions that seem to come with being pregnant. The moment I saw the little blue plus on the test, I really didn't know what to do. I didn't even really tell Max right away... I finally looked at him and told him that I didn't know what to do!! We enjoy reading the adventure that our little Eggbert (that's the name... for now... NOT when it comes out!) is taking. We are just about 10 weeks along, and it really feels like it's been 10 months. I don't even want to imagine what it's going to be like when I'm huge!

Little Eggbert is scheduled to make an appearance into the world on September 13, 2009. It's a great date, because that's when Eggbert's friend was born - exactly one year before that! We have another doctors appointment on February 24, where we will get to see a better photo of the baby, and hopefully hear the heartbeat! I am really excited to hear that! It will be a sigh of relief, knowing that my chances of losing it dramatically decrease.

We told our parents right when we found out. My parents are excited, but because they already have grandchildren, it wasn't quite the same effect as the news had for Max's mom and dad. They both were in town one night, and we took them to dinner to celebrate Kevin's birthday. We gave Kevin his gifts, and then handed both Debi and Kevin a gift. They were photo frames with "grandpa and me" and grandma and me" written on the bottom... Debi opened hers, and within seconds, she looked at us and asked if we were serious. We said yes, and she starting crying!! Meanwhile, Kevin is looking at the photo that is in the frame, totally oblivious to the words on the bottom, trying to figure out who these strangers are in the frame. He looked over at Debi, saw that she was crying, and was really confused then. He ripped the paper back a little more to reveal the words on the bottom -- got the biggest eyes I have ever seen and shouted "OH!". He finally got it. It was priceless.
